Okonjo Iweala make WTO shortlist.

Former minister of finance Ngozi Okonjo Iweala has made final shortlist of candidates for the Director General of World Trade Organisation (WTO). The body however dropped three candidate from the contest. It also plans to reduces the contestants to two final candidate in few weeks. WTO said, "three of other candidates who did not make it at the shortlist, did not secure enough support in the first three rounds of voting. "their expertise and high professional and personal qualities are highly valued and respected by all members " WTO, Genera Council Chairman, David Walker, said in a statement on Friday. The second phase of consultation would begin on September 24th and run to 6th October after which the WTO would announced two candidates The goal was to name a new leader before November 17.
