just in: LASEMA confirmed 2 dead as truck plunged into Epe river.

A truck carrying sand plunged into Epe river in Lagos State on Friday night, September 25.

In a statement released today september 26, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), said, "the Agency recieved a late last night accident  involving a Volvo Tipper that fell off the Berger bridge into Epe river in Lagos State 


Upon arrival at the scene of incident, it was discovered that a six tyre truck converging sand plunged into Epe river. 

Scores of persons have been declared missing after the truck plunged into Epe river. 

As at time of writing this report the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, have concluded their  rescue effort and have confirmed two death in the incident. 
They two male bodies have been taken to the mortuary.

Another prominent Nigerian Dead.

Emir of Bought Dies at 79. The Emir of Biu in Borono State, Alhaji Mai Umar Mustapha Aliya, is dead.  The monarch died at the Federal Medical Center Gombe after a brief illness on Monday night, September 14. Alhaji Mai Umar Mustapha Aliyah, was born on the 9th of November 1940 in Biu, the late monarch attended Kwaya Kusar junior primary school between 1947 and 1949. He later went to Biu central primary school from 1950 to 1953. He there after proceeded to Hausari primary school in maiduguri between 1953 and 1955. The deceased was at various time a veterinary attended, a member representing Buy Emirates at Borno State council of art and culture,  and district Head of Biu town from 1975 to 1989 when he became the Emir of Biu. He left behind four wives, and over 70 children and 200 grandchildren. May Emir of Biu dies at 79   his soul rest in perfect peace.

8 burnt to death in Lagos-Ibadan expressway accident

Eight people were burnt to death in an accident on the Lagos-ibadan expressway.  The lone accident involved a Mazda bus marked AAA 249 VX occurred on Saturday night, September 19, at about 8:45pm, near seapade bridge.  The accident  was a result of a burst tyre that cause the car to somersaults and burst into flames.  "People were involved in the accident. They are three male adults, one female adult, one child and six unidentified person.  8 died while 3 were injured and rushed to Idera Hospital, Sagamu, for medical attention. NAPTIP rescues 135 victims and arrests, 86 suspected human traffickers.
